Virus
The corporate virus infecting Canada’s Health Protection Branch is a major cause of rising disease rates, injury and death from poisoned blood products, dangerous drugs, toxic food, and defective medical devices. The virus produces jaundiced regulatory behaviour that puts powerful commercial interests ahead of human life.
Symptoms
- drug safety scientists pressed to serve the drug industry instead of the public;
- drug safety research labs dismantled (established after thalidomide disaster);
- food safety scientists pressed to serve the food industry instead of public safety;
- food safety research program crippled and 32 scientific research positions eliminated;
- records documenting government’s blood scandal decisions destroyed by Health Canada;
- Food & Drugs Act being re-written to dump Health Canada’s responsibility and liability for product safety.
Vaccine
The Canadian Health Coalition has a vaccine to deal with the corporate virus that threatens your blood stream and digestive tract. The vaccine will rebuild and restore a health protection system that protects basic determinants of health like safe food and drugs. The program will:
- Terminate HPB Transition immediately.
- Conduct a public investigation of Health Canada's failure to perform its duty
- Maintain the Food & Drugs Act and strengthen safety regulations.
- Re-build food and drug labs and re-install safety research budgets.
- Return responsibility and capacity for food safety to Health Canada.
- Terminate cost-recovery programs for food and drug safety.
- Prosecute officials for failure to enforce health protection laws.
