Watch Colleen Flood and Jane Philpott on the Canada Health Act principle of accessibility

Colleen Flood and Jane Philpott joined the Canadian Health Coalition’s Anne Lagacé Dowson on June 11 to discuss the principle of accessibility found in the Canada Health Act as part of a webinar series on the principles of the Act. The webinar is now available for viewing here.

Colleen Flood is the Dean of Queen’s University Faculty of Law. Previously, Dr. Flood was a Professor in the Faculty of Law at the University of Ottawa and University Research Chair in Health Law and Policy. She was also the Director of the University of Ottawa Centre for Health Law, Policy and Ethics. Flood has also served as a Professor at the University of Toronto and Scientific Director of the Canadian Institutes of Health Research. She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences.

Jane Philpott is a physician, dean of the Queen’s University Faculty of Health Sciences and director of the Queen’s School of Medicine, and the former Minister of Health. Prior to entering politics, Philpott was a family physician known for promoting medical education in Africa, HIV/AIDS fundraising, refugee advocacy, and her work on the social determinants of health. She is the author of the new book, Health Care for All: A Doctor’s Prescription for a Healthier Canada.
