Billboards in Edmonton will remind Liberal MPs of their pharmacare promise

On Monday, September 8, Liberal MPs will arrive in Edmonton for their national caucus retreat, just days before Parliament resumes.

Comments made by Health Minister Marjorie Michel in July suggest that the Carney government is stepping back from new pharmacare agreements. Despite promises made during the election campaign, only three provinces and one territory have actually signed on to the program, leaving four out of five Canadians without free access to contraceptives and essential diabetes medications.

If the government abandons its commitment, millions of Canadians will continue to go without the medications they rely on.

Taking action in Edmonton

The Canadian Health Coalition, alongside Friends of Medicare, will be in Edmonton next week to send a clear message to the Liberal caucus: Canadians expect them to keep their pharmacare promises.

That’s why we’re raising money to place three billboards in high-traffic areas around Edmonton’s airport, which will greet MPs on arrival, remind them of their commitments on pharmacare, and make it clear that Canadians are watching.

Your donation will make this campaign as impactful as possible and every contribution strengthens our message.

Liberal MPs will see this billboard when they arrive in Edmonton for their caucus retreat next week.

Together, we can hold the government accountable and make sure pharmacare remains a priority.
