Health Coalition urges electors to “Vote Health Care” in Election 2025
Health care is consistently a top issue for Canadians, and with good reason. Our national universal health care program is facing multiple challenges – funding shortfalls, privatization, and workforce shortages. And now we can add U.S. President Trump’s threats of annexation to the list.
To help voters take action this election, the Canadian Health Coalition has launched a ‘health care hub’ website to educate voters about how their choice on election day can help improve Canada’s public Medicare.
It includes a digital tool to enable voters to send a questionnaire to candidates in their riding. Responses will be posted on the website.
Here’s how it works:
- The platform automatically finds the email addresses of the candidates in your riding using your postal code.
- We’ve already written a powerful email with questions on key health care issues for you.
- Just fill in your details, personalize the message if you’d like, and hit send.
The Canadian Health Coalition is encouraging voters to pose the following questions to candidates:
Medicare
Q1. Will you and your party ensure public health care is provided to everyone in Canada based on their medical need, not their ability to pay, by championing our cherished single-payer, universal Medicare system?
Pharmacare
Q2. Will you and your party work with provinces and territories to provide free contraceptives, diabetes treatments, and other types of prescription medication to everyone in Canada through the new national universal pharmacare program?
Dental care
Q3. Will you and your party make the Canadian Dental Care Plan conform with universal Medicare by extending free dental coverage to everyone in Canada regardless of their age, household income, or private insurance coverage?
The outcome of this election will have a lasting impact on the future of Canada’s health care system, making it more important than ever to hold candidates accountable for their positions on these critical issues.
