The Canadian Labour Congress Political Action Training will help you get ready to fight for public health care in the lead up to the federal election. You will develop skills and build winning plans for public health care.

Why attend?

  • Get inspired with speakers who are on the frontlines of defending and expanding Medicare, including pharmacare, contraception, dental care, long-term care, primary care, mental health and addictions care.
  • Plan with public health champions from across the country on what the future of Medicare should look like.
  • Participate in action-oriented workshops on building skills and a coalition that prepares us all to champion public health care at this current political moment.

There have been two SOS Medicare conferences in the past, one in Ottawa in 1979 and one in Regina in 2007. Tommy Douglas, the father of Medicare, opened the 1979 Conference. The Canadian Health Coalition was founded out of this conference. It’s now time to reconvene for Medicare.

Let’s come together in Ottawa in February to fight for better Medicare in Canada.

Stay tuned—exciting announcements about our keynote, panels, and speakers are just around the corner!
