Back in March, thousands of Canadians took part in the very first Day of Action for Public Health Care, sending messages to MPs and gathering in communities across the country to demand action. That response is why provincial and territorial health coalitions across Canada are coming together to do it again.

On September 1, Danielle Smith’s UCP government is bringing U.S.-style, two-tier health care to Alberta. Prime Minister Mark Carney has said nothing. He has the power to speak out, and withhold federal funding from Alberta unless Premier Smith stops it.

If the federal government does not act, other provinces will likely follow.
