Dear friend,

Our cherished, safe and reliable voluntary blood donation system is at risk – from the very people we trust to protect it!

You may have heard on the news that Canadian Blood Services, the non-profit agency we rely upon to keep our blood and plasma supplies safe and secure, is in negotiations with major corporations that buy and sell an essential life-giving medicine made from blood – called plasma.

  • Health Coalition raises alarm over risk to voluntary blood supply from for-profit corporations

Privatizing the collection of plasma to corporations that pay people for this component of their blood is risky, according to health experts.

We need leadership from the federal government to protect our voluntary blood donation system.

Urge your Member of Parliament, Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and Health Minister Jean-Yves Duclos to order Canadian Blood Services to call off any talks with private corporations in Canada.

Add your name:

Thanks for everything you do to protect public health care!
