Carney must protect Canadian health care from Trump’s influence

On Monday June 17, Prime Minister Mark Carney met with U.S. President Donald Trump in Alberta during the G7 summit. Their meeting comes at a time of growing concern about U.S. influence on Canada’s public health care system, including U.S. Big Pharma’s lobbying and increased pressure for privatization.

Trump’s political track record, his repeated comments about making Canada the 51st state, and his belief that Canadians would have better health coverage under U.S. control have all intensified concerns about growing U.S. interference in Canadian health care.

Carney and Trump agreed to pursue a new deal within 30 days. That means key decisions are being made right now. If public health care is on the table, Canadians have a narrow window to push back before it’s too late.

Make your voice heard, tell Prime Minister Carney to act

The pressure is mounting, but Canadians still have the power to push back.

The Canadian Health Coalition has launched an email campaign calling on Canadians to urge Prime Minister Carney to reject pressure from Trump and U.S. Big Pharma that could put public health care at risk.

We are calling on Prime Minister Carney to:

  • Push back against efforts by Trump and U.S. lobbyists to weaken Canada’s public health care system
  • Protect Canadians from rising drug costs driven by Big Pharma
  • Strengthen essential public programs like pharmacare and dental care

We have already drafted the message. All you need to do is click the button below and add your name.

Send your message to Prime Minister Carney now

Together, we can show that Canadians are paying attention and that public health care is not for sale.
