Canada’s premiers are meeting in Charlottetown on July 21-23. The PEI Health Coalition and Canadian Health Coalition will be there to make sure that the premiers hear that two two-tier, U.S.-styled health care is not welcomed in Canada and that public health care needs investments and building up, not cuts and tearing down.

PUBLIC MEETING: HOW CAN WE SAVE HEALTH CARE?

Join us for an urgent public conversation on what will save our public health care. Hear from experts/advocates from the Maritimes, Alberta, Ontario and Quebec on emerging threats to health care. We want to hear from you. What are your current health care challenges? What are real solutions?

Tuesday, July 21

7:00 PM – 8:30 PM Atlantic time

St. Paul’s Church Hall, 101 Prince St., Charlottetown

With panelists Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives’ Andrew Longhurst, Alberta Friends of Medicare’s Chris Gallaway, Ontario Health Coalition’s Natalie Mehra, and Coalition Solidarité Santé’s Genevieve LaMarche. With the NB Health Coalition and NS Health Coalition. Moderated by PEI Health Coalition’s Mary Boyd and Canadian Health Coalition’s Jason MacLean.

RALLY TO SAVE PUBLIC HEALTH CARE

TELL ALBERTA’S DANIELLE SMITH + ALL PREMIERS: STOP TWO-TIER HEALTH CARE

Tell our premiers outside their summer conference that we will not allow two-tier, U.S-style health care in Canada. Hear from union leaders and advocates, get energized, and enjoy a BBQ! Bring your signs and voice in defence of a strong public health care system that takes care of everyone – patients, family members, health care workers and community.

Wednesday, July 22

12:00 PM-1:00 PM Atlantic time

Queen’s Wharf, bottom of Queen St., Charlottetown

Hosted by the PEI Health Coalition & Canadian Health Coalition

Events are free and open to the public. Everyone welcome!
